We're Famous!

Hey, folks!  Baileys Basics is officially famous.  We're being featured today on a lovely blog by Jennifer at Mondry's Y Knot Shop.  Check it out here.  Pretty cool, huh?  It was so nice of Jennifer to feature us, and to say such sweet things, too!

Things around here are busy, busy, busy.  I've been sewing my heart out the past few days, working on rice packs and hand warmers.  As soon as I finish the pictures and we work out some shipping details, they'll hit the shops.  I have a few holiday goodies in the works, too, fear not!  Brian is working like a madman, but still finding time to run to the post office to take care of our shipments.  He's such a good Shipping Guru, I tell ya.  This weekend we'll be off to West Virginia to visit Brian's family, so any orders placed or any emails sent will be handled when we get back. Actually, they'll be handled Monday as we're always whipped when we get back on from their house on Sundays.

Lovely Casandra from over at The Copper Cauldron gave us a blog award recently.  We'd love to pass it on, but don't have 10 crafty blogs we're following.  So....give us ideas!! Specifically, what should I be reading that is positvely riviting and inspring?  Share, folks!

Ya'll have a great weekend, and we'll see you when we're back from Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia.

Seriously, who wouldn't love to snuggle up with this, especially as the weather is getting cooler.  Check it out:

Do yourself a big favor:  head over to Pigtails and Snails and register to win this quilt.  Then, stick around to read a bit and fall in love.  You only have a few more hours to go register for this quilt -- why are you still stilling here!?!

A Sneak Peek

You may not know this, but I have a fabric fetish. I love the colors, designs, textures, and drape of fabric. I'm a bit of a cheap fabric addict, though, in that I'm just as thrilled by bargain-basement remnants as I am with expensive, hard-to-find, designer fabrics. Lately, I've been perfecting a pattern or technique for our Hot and Cold Therapy Rice Bags. Of course, before we debut a new product, we tend to overwhelm our family and friends with samples and freebies, in hopes of garnering praise and furthering addiction. This is no different.

I made the first finalized set of our rice bags for my mom, to use on her knees. Unfortunately, the light box wasn't ready do I don't have good photos of them. But, have no fear. Here is the set I made for my younger brother and his wife. I'm personally thrilled....

Isn't that some insanely cool fabric?? Don't worry, I'm sure it'll make an appearance in our shop at some point!!
Enjoy your Tuesday; what are you creating today?

Can you keep up with the changes?

Hello, all!  We have been busy as bees here in the Baileys household lately. You may have noticed the new blog design, as well as the new mini-stores in the sidebar.  We're listed on Etsy and Shop Handmade, so you can order our products there.  We won't be taking any orders from the blog anymore, as that's against the rules at Etsy.  So, pop over and order to your little hearts' content. As always, local cash pick-up is an option to keep us all eco-friendly.

Other great changes are the new pictures that you'll see here and in the shops!  I built a light box, and Brian tracked down the proper fixtures for it.  The result are some (hopefully!) stunning photos of our products.  Of course, I'm having trouble restraining myself from putting everything in the box and snapping a picture (truly, I am!).  You'll notice we updated all the products featured here on the blog, with new photos and more recent links.  We hope you enjoy them!

I'm is still sewing my little heart out, and someday soon Hot and Cold Therapy Packs and Headache Packs will be making an appearance.  We gifted three of our favorite family members with therapy packs recently, and actually remembered to get some photos of them!  So, as soon as Brian can work his computer-guru-magic on the memory card reader maybe you'll actually get to see them.  Guess what?  I stuck 'em in the lightbox.

Another great thing is that we have officially gone international!  At least as far as readership goes.  We're still working on a good international shipping option.  It's just so expensive for people to order one little product and then spend $35 US on postage.  We're also following some ideas for making domestic shipping easier and cheaper, too.

There are lots of changes -- check back often so you can keep up!  As always, let us know if you have any ideas, suggestions, critiques, or questions.  Thanks for visiting!

Headache Relief Tea Blend
$5.00 per bag
This tea is specially designed to simply bring fast relief of tough headaches. Whether you suffer from stress-related headaches, sinus pressure, migraines, or a tough day at work, we recommend a cup (or a pot!) of Baileys Basics Headache Relief Tea Blend. Not only does it work great, it contains peppermint and chamomile for great taste!

Use 2-3 teaspoons per 6 ounces of boiling water. Steep, covered, 10-12 minutes. The herb blend can be reused a second time with a smaller amount of boiling water. Sweeten with honey, agave nectar, or whatever you please. You may steep the herbs directly in the water and then strain, or use a T-sac, muslin bag, or straining ball.

This offer is for one ounce of herb blend in a small, brown bag. One ounce contains approximately 24 teaspoons of herbs, which will produce approximately 12 cups of tea (second brew not included). Please remember that a cup of tea is 6 ounces, not a mug.
As with any herbal or natural product, please consider your other medications or conditions before using this tea. A complete list of ingredients is available upon request. All of the herbs in this blend are generally accepted as safe for pregnant or nursing mothers.

Please remember that we do not provide you with medical advice, guarantees, or lists of all possible interactions or side effects. This product has not been evaluated by the FDA, and we are hereby not liable for any adverse effects caused by misuse or abuse. Please consult your medical or herbal practitioner with any questions or concerns beyond a list of ingredients.

It smells lightly of honey, and the consistency allows you to use a little bit, or scoop up a lot. You can even use it on your face and lips, making it your multipurpose dry skin remedy!

Clean Your Tub! Natural Scouring Powder
$5.50 per jar
$5.00 per refill bag

This is where it all started! While trying to find natural alternatives to conventional cleaning products, we started making this scouring powder to use on our tubs, toilets, and sinks. It’s called Clean Your Tub!, but it cleans a whole lot more than just tubs.

A little goes a long way, and it works best with minimal water when you’re cleaning the sink or tub. Simply sprinkle the powder on your grungy surface, rub with a cloth, and rinse clean. We prefer to use microfiber cloths for cleaning, and find they work great with this powder! Of course, the standard toilet brush works great for the toilet, too. For greasy or stubborn spills, sprinkle some Clean Your Tub! on the stain and spray with a mixture of vinegar and water.Remember the foamy volcano from science class? That same foamy action will degrease your counter and make cleanup a breeze!

We’ve added tea tree oil to the powder to ensure it’s antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal. This offering is for orange-scented powder with added tea tree oil. The orange oil makes an excellent degreaser!

This item is available as 16 ounces of powder in a glass jar with a lid. You can check out our store or this site to find the refills, which are sold in paper bags to reduce the packaging.

Ingredients: sodium bicarbonate, borates, dendritic salt, tea tree oil, essential oils.
